Living on the edge
Remembering Dan Osman's life today...
今日はなぜか突然、彼のことを思い出し
一日中、彼の生き方について考えていた。
どうしてもブログにも書いておきたいな、とも感じて。。。
改めてウィキを読んで驚いたのだけど
昨日は彼の１１回目の命日だった。
彼のやり方に「無茶苦茶だ」「クライミングへの冒涜だ」と
批判する人も多かった。
それでも彼は自分のやり方を変えなかった。
自分の生き方を決して変えなかった。
ボヘミアンライフスタイル。。。
ハイセンセーションシーカー。。。
私は彼の生き方を否定したくない。
複雑な心境ではあるけれど、否定なんてできない。
こういう生き方もあるんだ、と。。。
この動画を観ていて涙が止まらなかった。
彼はきっと生きながらにして
異次元を体感したかったんだろうな、とふと感じた。
そして。。。
私の大好きな映画「ポイントブレイク」の
ラストシーンが目に浮かんだ。

Great rehearsal!
Star and I had a great rehearsal today!
She edited the music (took all the vocals out)
and we started from there.
We've already set the theme,
so the choreography came easy ;)
It's gonna be a great performance... I'm sure!!
曲をもっと自分たちの表現したい世界に近づけるために
ボーカル部分を削ってのスタート。
ぴったり３分で編集したスターの才能に脱帽。
ストーリーを描いていくように振り付けを進める。
メロディに合わせる動き、ビートに合わせる動き。。。
フロアーワークも駆使して起承転結の「転」を残すのみ。
ココは見せ場になるので時間をかけたい。
とは言っても、リハーサルはあと３回のみ。
ドレスリハーサルは絶対に欠かせないから
正直、時間的にキツい。
今週はサンクスギビングホリデーだけど
ホリデー気分もそこそこに集中してリハーサルに臨みたい。
私たちデュオの初舞台。
いいショウに仕上がると思う。

Duniani Dance Company.

パートナー Star と
念願のダンスカンパニーを起ち上げた。
いろんな国の言語で「世界の」という意味。
インターナショナル、ユニバーサルでありたい。
全く違うバックグラウンドを持つ人間の融合。。。

去年、ショウを観てから
「いつか一緒に踊りたい」と想い続けてきた
Velvet Kittens と毎週 Burlesque の練習をしている現実。
彼女たち主催のショウに
敬愛するダンサー Star と
ダンスパートナーとして出演できるなんて。。。
拘り続けてきて本当に良かった。
今度こそ形にする！！
心に想い描いた想像を創造する！！

Candyland
My dance partner & teacher Star and I 'll be performing
at the show: Candyland.
This is the velvet kittens annual charity event starring the VK
and featuring a variety of local performers.
December 19 @ 10:30 pm.

I had a great Burlesque lesson with Jana
from The Velvet Kittens yesterday.
I really loved it.
And... I might be able to dance with them soon!!
Still too early to tell, but like I said, I have a vision!!

Got a copy!
Oddly, I ran into the filmmaker David Lowery yesterday.
Well, I worked for him as an extra in his film St. Nick
about 2 years ago.
Since I couldn't make it to go to the premiere,
I was giving up on seeing myself in the film or getting a copy...
We've lost contact after that.
I guess it was my lucky day, he had an extra copy with him
and gave it to me.
He is going to Greece next week. How luck am I?
Yes, I'm in the film.
Five seconds of fame??? haha...
